Peter Keung, the author of the anti-spam word plugin has fixed bugs that were recently preventing comments from getting through. There are bots that "read" the anti-spam word images. I've installed Bad Behaviour plugin and it's working great. Most of the time, BB prevents a comment from being saved to the database (BB analyzes nature of request) whereas Akismet allows the comment to be saved to the database and then Akismet filters or deletes it. Together, the 2 plugins are very effective! I've also renamed my WordPress comments and trackback files so that some bots don't find them - lessening the load on the server. @Sara: Hey, thanks for the comment. Fat cats rule.
