Scenes from Halloween 2008

A rather plain Halloween pumpkin jack-o'-lantern... boo!

Happy Halloween, y'all! I wanted to post my Halloween entry much earlier, but I got home late tonight. I'm definitely not in the mood to write a super long entry, so I'm just posting a few photos that are self-explanatory. Pumpkin jack-o'-lanterns. Candy. Death. Death by candy. Feline and metal monsters on the prowl. Halloween basics.

In the last two years, I got stuck with dealing out the crack to the kiddies because my sister worked on Halloween nights. Luckily for me, she doled out most of the candy tonight, but she seemed to enjoy the task... unlike me. When I hear "trick-or-treat" yelled for the 100th time, the festive mood wears off. The spirit of Ebenezer Slacker surfaces when I have to drop really good chocolate for rude teens who don't say "thank you". (Jaded? Maybe a bit.) Anyway, how was your Halloween? Share your story?

I bought these yummy chocolate treats for myself. I ate them all BEFORE Halloween:

Halloween chocolate balls wrapped in pumpkin jack-o'-lantern tin foil

Next up, a photo of my neighbour who bought a new Hummer with a vanity license plate that says "PURRING"... like the sound a cat makes. Ehrm... frankly, I'm more scared of his gas-guzzling, greenhouse gas-emitting black metal monster than his Mr. Death costume. An Inconvenient Truth in the suburbs. Dude, watch the movie.

Death takes a holiday... on Halloween. Boo!

Another Halloween pumpkin jack-o'-lantern... not scary, nope Dear PETA: No animals were harmed for this Halloween cat and candy photo!

B-Cat and Barnyard trick-or-treating on Halloween night Barnyard pretends to be a scary black cat on Halloween night

Two feline monsters, B-Cat and Barnyard aka "Lucky" hung around our front porch tonight. With his black fur and amber eyes, Barnyard scared a few kids away. Goody, more candy crack for me! (Actually, Barnyard is very friendly and gentle.)

Adieu,
fruity boo!

Nice pics and your treats are just too cute to eat! Wish that we over here are as festive as you guys are over there. I bet that would be a sweet deal, for the kids especially.

Hey y'all. I'll visit your sites soon! My replies to your wonderful comments:

    @Sash: Max isn't retired. :razz: He's just… on vacation.

@Ann: Bianca is a "He"? A male cat? Actually, Bianca is the name of a lesbian character on a popular daytime U.S. "teleserye" (TV soap). Sorry, kinda funny.

@Scart: High on sugar crack, hehe.

Not sharing the chocolate, huh? They do look good… :P

Did you give Lucky a treat?

  6. 6 Ami (comments: 14)

Aw kewl, purposeful cats, esp. Barnyard.

I've never celebrated Halloween before, not here in this hellhole of a city. Wait, Halloween IS this city!

  7. 7 Joyfulchicken (comments: 17)

Is Barnyard actually Max in black cat costume?

  8. 8 Sash aka Farm Boy (comments: 23)

But where are the pics of Max? Have you demoted his star status as your blog mascot and muse? Or is he retired? I miss the food stories and Max…

My Halloween had much less chocolates and much more alcohol.

Lucky is lovely. He reminds me of our black cat Bianca. He was the nice one among our cats.

So how's your sugar after you ate those chocolate treats? Man, that's a lot! Hehehe.

Happy Halloween to you too!
