After 49 days of blog stasis wherein I probably lost regular readers and drove away potential subscribers, I’m back on the blogging scene, riding the dizzying whirligig of blog hopping, and returning comments one by one. To paraphrase Buffy, “Seize the moment, ’cause tomorrow your blog might be dead.” (OK, I’ve been looping episodes again.) I have good reasons why my blog has laid mostly fallow for the last 8 months, but let’s skip the explanation. Instead, focus on the chubby, fluffy, baby kitty in the basket. Aww, cute? That’s a photo of Max the Fat Cat when he was a few weeks old, BEFORE my Uncle gave him to my family. The author of this blog recently celebrated a birthday. Cat?
Uh, I hadn’t fully appreciated the phenomenon of LOLcats (those photos of grammatically-challenged cats, notably the ones in I Can Has Cheezburger and Cute Overload)… until one of my fave bloggers made me some, featuring Max. (Reminder to self: thank her properly.) But if you owned the Laziest Cat in the World, then you’d know that Max doesn’t need funny captions over his head… to be humorous. And he’d probably object to the poor grammar, haha.
Anyway, I should tell y’all that I haven’t checked e-mails, pingbacks, and trackbacks sent to my blog for almost a month… so, don’t feel offended that I haven’t replied yet. I’ll be tackling that pile next week. But I did take note of a few, ehrm… gentle wake-up calls, notably from these lovely bloggers:
Joana @ Nanashi-Inc.net:
“Slacker! It’s been a year since you blogged! See, you posted in 2007 and it’s 2008. You’re a total slacker.”
Lad Madrigal @ Life in Lenses:
“Whenever I pass by this blog, I always think to myself, “Sira ba ang browser ko at hindi ko makita ang new entry niya?” (Translation: Is my browser broken coz I can’t find her new entry?)
GYK @ GYK:
“Hello there! After 58 years, you still haven’t updated yet?”
Lei @ Cheese to go with my whine* (her previous last entry — Sep. 9, 2007):
“Omg, lol^^ I finally updated. You should too.” [ fruity sez: OMG. ]
In my defense, let me clarify that I am not a total blog slacker… just 96%. I did manage to cough up a new look for the blog, upgrade WordPress version and plugins, and clean up the dead links in here (including links in comments). Yay? Coming soon: huge comments milestone celebration / thank-you entry!
And the birthday? It was both shiny and happy. Thanks for your greetings: Ann, Coy, Dan Hellbound, Iva, Janette Toral, Joiz, Joni, Kiro, Pusa, and Tina.

Baby got older. Would you believe that I only have ONE (known surviving) baby photo and that I was in my 20’s when I saw it? I briefly mentioned in this previous post that my parent’s earlier photo collection is assumed destroyed as it was left behind in the Philippines. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, my one baby photo is a very faded, scratched, cracked, sepia-toned, stained 5″ x 7″ shitter. Unfortunately, I put it through so much Photoshop processing to get it to look half decent… I look like The Omen baby! If those soulless eyes and head the size of a watermelon got you freaked, you’re not alone. Scary.
When I was born, my parents thought that my skin was so pink that they nicknamed me Pi _ _ y. That’s the name I go by in very close circles. In an Apgar score (a method to assess the health of a newborn baby), a normal pink baby is healthy… and gets a score of 2. If it’s possible to score 10, I’d get 10.
Click on a thumbnail image below to enlarge photo:
- Extremely blue babies are unhealthy (low Apgar score of 1).
- Extremely grey babies are unhealthy (low Apgar score of 1).
- Extremely green babies… are the spawn of The Incredible Hulk.
I’ll be back much later with a Very, Very Late Post-Valentine’s Day Post or a Very, Very Late Post-New Year’s Day Post. Oh yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day to y’all! Are you seizing the moment or a Supersize Single Serving of Chocolates?
Adieu,
She Blinded Me With Fruity Slacker Science

Green babies, ha. I don’t wanna say belated Happy Birthday but there, me said it. Glad you updated, I barely have things to update about. Pretty kitty, super cute.
Belated Happy Birthday!
And welcome back! =D
I was laughing on the inside RE: blue, pink and green babies. In medicalese (see, I’m a freaking geek), blue babies (cyanotic ones) represent those having cardiac and/or pulmonary problems, pink babies are the healthy ones, and green babies are those who er, crapped inside their mummy’s tummies and are choked by those horrendous pieces of stuff. Gross, I know.
So, Pi _ _ y…
Hahaha. And hollah on your special day!!!
Belated Happy B-day!
U know, I don’t have a picture younger than 6 months. Makes me think I’m adopted. But no, I look too much like my father for that. lol^^
And Pi _ _ y? How badass is that?! kkk^^
Welcome back! Missed your entries. Hehehe!
Cute cat!
Belated Happy Boitday! Cute baby pic, love the hair!
(Sssh, piolo? Where?)
Belated Happy Birthday and may God bless you with more blessings to come.
Welcome back! Happy Birthday to cat and minion! Little Max is so cute! I love LOLcats.
Also, we have very few baby pictures of me as well. I don’t know that I have any before the age of 2.
Aww… that’s such a cute baby picture! There’s nothing Omen-ish about it. =3 I wish you a belated Happy Birthday and Valentine’s Day.
Your layout is making me giggle. Spread the Heroes love!
Belated Happy Birthday. Nice to see you back.
Hopefully, we get the chance to meet at the next Piolo concert. I am thinking of going.
