Yessir, that’s actor Ewan McGregor holding a big sign boldly proclaiming, “Summer is Fruity and Oaty!” Recently, Sir JJ left a comment: I dreamt about you just this night. In my dream Ewan McGregor was holding a humongous dummy board (or whatever you call it) telling me to say, “Summer is Fruity and Oaty!” I wonder what the heck that means!
Umm, before I do my Carl Jung–slash–Sylar impersonation, lemme introduce y’all to the 1st entry in my ongoing series called “You Asked for It” where I absorb inspiration, kill the cheerleader… and become President one day.
The idea behind You Asked for It is simple: whenever my blog is in danger of extinction, I’ll tap inspiration from reader comments, fan or hate mail, analysis of traffic sources (referring sites, search engines, keywords), the terms entered in my blog’s search box, and incoming links (explore schtuff written about me or my blog). Basically, my blogging mojo will be energized by YOU. If your brew of notable, interesting or funky matches my current mood and thoughts, you and your website are as good as p-l-u-g-g-e-d — faster than you can say, “Fruity powers can be used for good and evil.”
A side benefit — I’m forcing myself to reply to visitor comments on my own blog, LOL. Last Thursday, I went out to dinner in T.O. with 3 ex co-worker friends (Evil Twin, Bob and R) from Mordor. Both Evil Twin and Bob pointed out that I “never or hardly ever” reply to blog comments, including theirs. Sorry? I’m always busy. If it’s any consolation, I’ve replied to all comments and e-mail… in my mind. My mind just hasn’t made a full trip to my fingers connecting to the keyboard.
Besides, I prefer to visit readers’ sites and return comments on their sites. Isn’t that beaucoup better and nicer, eh?
Evil Twin called me and the other two gals “a bunch of pussies” for feeling too full after our meals at The MidTown Restaurant & Bar and expressed smug satisfaction, lol, that her nummy Seafood Linguini (calamari, mussels, salmon and shrimp in a slightly spicy tomato basil sauce) was a lot better than my very bland Penne Pollo Al’olio (grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh herbs, garlic and white wine tossed with extra virgin olive oil). Both Bob and R were disappointed over the lack of mushrooms in their Wild Mushroom Agnolotti (fresh Agnolotti, herbed tomato cream sauce, oven cured cherry tomatoes). Bob tucked into R’s Roasted Pear and Beet Salad (mixed greens, candied spiced walnuts, honey-orange vinaigrette) and said she’d try to recreate the recipe at home. Dessert — the 3 gals shared a Four Berry Cobbler (raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and blueberry served warm with Tahitian vanilla ice cream) — demolished. (Botanists don’t consider the strawberry to be a true berry, so… Four?)
But I digress, as usual. JJ’s subconscious hallucination. Symbol analysis:
A sign — omen or life signpost, wording or symbols on the sign may contain an important message. “Summer is Fruity and Oaty!” So very true.
A famous person — what you would like to be, what part of the famous person represents a part of you? An actor — a role you are playing in your waking life. Not the ‘real’ you, wish fulfillment. You wear a mask in the social world, acting out unconscious intentions developed from childhood and early life experiences. A desire to be noticed. Ewan McGregor, WTF?
Eh, screw all that… For all I know, Sir JJ was going through a Trainspotting heroin withdrawal episode and maybe even a gay manly crush on Ewan.
If anything, it means my evil plans for world domination are working. Oh, I may not have the brand name power of a superstar, but I won’t rest until my evil has entered the minds of every man, woman and child. And I’ll get your little doggy, too! Muahaha! (Neah, I’m too much of a slacker. Zzzz.)
Adieu,
Tim Tam Slam is Fruity and Oaty!
P.S. Kids, Republicans are proof that drugs are bad for you! PCP, bad. ![]()

I am impressed with your site’s layout, kabayan. And I love the fruity and oaty thing — I really do. Hope to see you around.
I love writing down that anti-spam word! It’s personalized! Haha!
Do you love Italian food? Be honest… Me too! Hahaha! Your answer was “yes”, right?
I wish somebody would dream about me and my blog! Haaay…
Hehe, what a weird dream… and we are actually seeing it now! Haha.
That sounds like a nice thing… the “You Asked for It”.
I like this You Asked for It idea, sounds really good.
I like the picture. I would like to dream something like that too, must be more exciting than my dreams, lol.
ZOMG! Can’t wait for Ewan on “Porno”. Not that kind of stuff, silly! But Irvine Welsh’s sequel to “Trainspotting”. I heard Danny Boyle is launching it sooner.
You Asked for It… Interesting gig you got there. Blog whoring shenanigan at its grandest.
Anyhoo, thanks for blog crashing! Come back anytime, mmk? Kbai.
That’s a good way to get the creative juices going. You have a way with words and I reckon so do your commenters.
Mmmmmm, the Seafood Linguini was very yummy… and the tri-berry cobbler was to die for!
I think if you had some, it would have made up for your bland Penne Pollo Al’olio.
I think that’s a nifty idea and definitely a fun way to get the creative juices flowing. I myself am fixing to implement a new blogging feature for that exact purpose. But mine will be on a set day every week.
I wish one of my friends would dream about my sites like that. I dreamt about my friend and I were eating dinner with Viggo Mortensen and talking about Adrien Brody movies. She had a Viggo layout on her site and she was the owner of the Adrien B. fanlisting at one point, haha.
I don’t feel fruity or oaty! I just feel tired. A chocolate covered biscuit could make me feel more awake, I am sure!
