I wanted to celebrate reaching 1000+ comments on my blog. Today, the 1000th comment was hollered by Zerovoltage! Congratulations, dude! I’d like to thank every person (stinking spammers excluded!) who has ever taken the time to holler back… by listing the name of each hollerer (and link, if available). My friend Jude would argue that I’m linkbaiting, but my motives are pure. What could be a better way (that won’t cost me a cent, haha) than to spread some Technorati boosts and Google juice? I’ve made a list of 326 unique commenter names responsible for 1009 comments!

I officially started blogging on Aug. 29, 2006. Since then, it’s been a blast with several significant hiccups and headaches — spammers, unfriendlies, blogger’s ennui, technical maintenance and fixes. I know that compared to other blogs, my blog doesn’t get that many visits and comments, but I’m still a happy camper! Through blogging, I’ve dusted off my so rusty coding and testing skills… and made a few good online connections to interesting people and their websites. In some ways, blogging to a Filipino audience has helped me to reconnect to my ethnic roots. Yes, I’m not even kidding.

OK, the list. It was relatively easy to gather the data by copying & pasting the results spewed out by Top Commentators. I set this awesome plugin to display the top 2000 commenter names. Next, I copied and pasted all the name links to this post. I also cross-referenced a SQL table to determine who submitted the 1st, 100th, 200th, 300th, 400th, 500th, 600th, 700th, 800th, 900th, 1000th and 1009th comment. Of the 1009 comments, 39 were made by me. Technically, if I subtract my comments and IF I don’t write another one, e.g. the future 1039th comment is really the 1000th!

The names appear from highest # of comments made (# of comments are indicated in brackets) to lowest #. The first 20 notables (who have each made 10+ comments) are highlighted in green. Names that are underlined are the 1st, 100th, 200th… to 1000th, and 1009th commenter. Strangely, Ms. Evilgenius has hollered the most with 38 comments… and was also the 200th, 500th and 600th commenter! Coincidence… or is she truly an evil genius… with waaaaay too much time on her hands? So very strange…

My friend Jude said that I’d get more repeat visitors and commenters if I didn’t write such damned long entries and if I replied to your comments on my OWN blog. Sorry, but I do try to visit and holler back on YOUR blogs.

Of course, this list doesn’t include e-mail (death threats, coupons, gift certificates, spam, love letters, etc.), MyBlogLog hellos, MSN Messenger hellos… telepathic messages… and messages sent via carrier pigeons. And actually… my friend Pedro submits many comments under many fake names because of his manifold soul and Jude is really Jessica Alba (ugggggggh)… Plus half of this blog was really coughed up by a phlegmy fat putty tat.
