Umm, sorry for the lame pineapple déjà vu, but this post is for Evil Twin who wrote that I should have put my new eyeglasses on the pineapple.

Hi Evil Twin! Happy? Yes, I would’ve done that, but I didn’t have my new eyeglasses yet when I took this photo at the Asian grocery store. Also, that stunt would’ve probably pissed off the Chinese grocery dudes who were already giving me the 100 evil eyes and suspicious sideway glances.

I know I haven’t posted in over a week. As pointed out by dear Paulie who claims to adore and worship me despite not being a Gay Man, I have fallen off the posting regimen. In some ways, that’s a good thing as it means that I’ve found something more entertaining and productive to occupy my idle hours, LOL. So, here’s a post with no focus. A mismash of loose ends.

• Whoah, I really need to check my incoming links more often because I didn’t know until a few days ago that someone nominated moi for the Bloggers’ Choice Award! • Congrats to Shari for making it in the top 5 finalists in the crowded Personal category in the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards! Good luck in getting a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finish! (Yes, that list of 209 nominees in the Personal category was whittled down to 5. But, congrats to everyone who didn’t make the shortlist, including moi.) And thanks again to Jim Caro for nominating me! Clearly, Jim is crazy.
• Congrats to these guys who made the shortlist in their respective categories: Jaypee (Technology) and Marni (Best Blog Design). Well deserved! I can honestly say that I’ve read a few posts in Jaypee’s blog which helped me to solve a couple of WordPress problems. And Marni’s design is definitely easy on the Pina eyes.
• Thanks to Alma for plugging my blog in this post, voting for my blog for Filipino Blog of the Week, and for offering to feed me Tim Tams (mmm!) and to show me around the Land of Oz! Tim Tamming!
• Thanks to everyone who continue to vote fruityoaty for Filipino Blog of the Week. Your loyalty and willingness to humour me… astound me! Anyway, as you may recall, I won 2nd place for Week 47. As of 5 minutes ago, it appears that I’m in 2nd spot again with 150 votes so far (wow, you guys rock!) against 189 votes for “bisdakplanet”. Although there’s still about a day left of voting, it looks like I will probably win 2nd place again and move on to Week 49. Yay!
• Culture Shiok! asked if the pineapples in this previous photo were from the Philippines. Answer: YES, but the Del Monte Gold “Extra Sweet Pineapples” above (a unique variety grown in the tropics, specifically Costa Rica) were purchased yesterday by my sister.
• Shutdown Day (an experiment to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day) is tomorrow. So, it’s basically like… hmm, Hug Your Inner Luddite, Amish, Menonnite Technophobia for One Day. I signed up last month. Actually, on more than one occasion, I’ve entertained the thought of having a career that didn’t involve touching a computer ever again. A mime or circus clown.
• Hi Ann! Welcome back to the blogosphere. You… go write. I read!
• Thanks to Janelle for pointing out that the girl’s name in the Legend of the Pineapple story is actually Pina… not Piña. And yes Janelle, it’s possible to have a special day dedicated to oneself. It’s called “birthday” and “I’m A Legend In My Own fruity Mind Every Day” .
• Thanks for all the nice comments on the previous posts. Sorry, I usually don’t reply to the comments ON MY OWN BLOG (bad rotten fruity), not because I don’t care enough, but I do make comments on YOUR BLOG when I can spare the time from my busy schedule.
