You Taste Like Strawberries

Split Strawberry Mascarpone Cream Tart

Sexy. Gorgeous. Creamy. Is it beckoning you to devour it whole? One bite will imbue a fleeting aura of the Mona Lisa smile. And although it can only offer ephemeral pleasure, you will savour each lick, bite and tiny crumb of that Strawberry Mascarpone Cream Tart. Oh yes you will, because simply put, it is perfection in a tart. Truly, it is food at its porniest zenith. Hehe. (Eh, accusations? ;) Deriving sadistic pleasure from subjecting my lovely readers to weekly servings of food porn? Pish, but is it ever about food?)

Whole Strawberry Mascarpone Cream Tart

The juiciest, freshest, sweetest strawberry covered in a glistening-red fruit glaze. A whole berry, quartered and mounded into a dome to hide a creamy, thick yet light filling made with vanilla essence, whipped cream, mascarpone and sugar. Mascarpone is a rich, fresh, soft white cheese with a texture similar to stiff whipped cream. This truly awesome filling has an understated sweetness - not cloyingly sweet. Mmm. Sweetened shredded coconut is pressed into the bottom sides of that strawberry mound. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention what’s holding the filling and strawberry - a buttery, flaky pastry cup of love. Behold, ambrosia. Go, take a minute.

And because we here at the fruityoaty farm strive for  6% educational content, here are 6 fun facts about the glorious strawberry, unearthed in our 6 Google digs found here, then here and lastly, over here:

  • In medieval times, strawberries were served at important functions to bring peace and prosperity.
  • Folklore states that if you split a mutant double strawberry in half and share it with someone, you’ll soon fall in love with each other.
  • In France, strawberries were thought to be an aphrodisiac. Horny newlyweds would have a special breakfast of strawberry soup.
  • According to Greek legend, when Adonis died, Venus the Goddess of Love wept uncontrollably. The tears rolled down her cheek and dropped to the earth turning into heart-shaped strawberries.
  • The strawberry is not classified by botanists as a true berry. True berries have seeds inside whereas a strawberry has seeds on the outside. Each seed is actually considered a separate fruit. The strawberry is member of the rose family.
  • Respondents to an American national survey labeled a strawberry lover as health conscious, happy, fun-loving, outgoing, intelligent, smart, nice, pleasant or normal. Non-strawberry lovers, on the other hand, were described as sour, unhappy, weird, strange and boring.

I swear, that kiss… those lips… tasted like strawberries. Well, that’s what my fruitylicious memories tell me. Yes, just like juicy, juicy strawberries.

Adieu, ;)

I remembered what my classmate had said to me. He said that he won’t eat strawberries anymore because he saw on TV a microscopic image of a strawberry and it was so yucky. Lol.

Cool. So we should start calling strawberry as “strawrose”. Lol.

I am finishing my blogsite for full operation that’s why I haven’t been around storming blogs with comments lately. I have a new site, but I haven’t linked it yet from MyBlogLog and Technorati. I’ll keep you posted. Anyhow, your “food” porn is great haha! I love it… With this kind of porn, I wont get AIDS… I’ll get diabetes!

I just have one question: “Do I have to wear condoms in my tongue when I eat that tempting concoction?”

Greetings from a fellow sweet tooth!
