Top Reasons Why It's OK to Be Single on Any Day

Box of Swiss Delice chocolates

OK, I know... this entry is a bit untimely, but better late than never. I do things in my own good time. I'm just fashionably late. I would've posted on Valentine's Day, but I was too busy wallowing in my single-minded misery... ehrm, just kidding. Yes, Happy Singles Awareness Day to all the members of Club Med for Singles. And to everyone with a significant other, screw you. Kidding! I got to thinking... it's not so bad being single on Valentine's Day... and on any day, really. I can give you 5 + 12 = 17 good reasons!

Top 5 Reasons Why It's Great to Be Single on Valentine's Day

  1. You can buy your own boxes of chocolates. You don't have to share them with Mr. or Ms. Valentine. They're all yours, baby.
  2. Me, myself and I... No need to shop for anyone but YOU! Go buy yourself some high quality chocolates, NOW.
  3. Romantic candlelight dinners can adversely affect your eyesight. Dim lighting will strain your eyes as you lovingly gaze at your chocolates.
  4. You get to cuddle up in bed with a good box of chocolaty goodness. Mocha Chocalata ya ya (oh yea), Creole lady Marmalade! Rawrr!
  5. You don't have to pretend you like the gift Mr. or Ms. Valentine gave you because you bought a gift all for yourself... chocolate. And who doesn't like chocolate? If you don't, what's wrong with you, really?

And what about the other 364 days in a year, you ask? Well, my friend, here's the fruity & oaty answer to your rescue (or damnation)!

Strangely enough, the no-need-to-share chocolate reason was one of the ones I gave when I wrote my Valentine's Day post. :)

You're right, V-Day is Singles Awareness Day. :)

    Can't… Stop… Drooling…

I've never been a big chocolate lover, but these pieces of heaven will surely change my mind. Too bad I haven't seen that brand in the Philippines before.

    De-lish~

So someone sent me flowers last V-Day. He didn't write his name but later on asked me to join him. That's when he asked me if the chocolate I was munching on was part of the package I got (I was munching on a bag of Kisses, what a pig!) and I said, "NO! I DON'T NEED A GUY TO BUY ME CHOCOLATES. I'D RATHER GET THE CHOCOLATES THAN THE FLOWERS." Good job, then he said the flowers were from him. Uugh! I'd still want the chocolates really.

LOL, all those chocolates look delicious! I love #5 on the first list - "You don't have to pretend you like the gift Mr. or Ms. Valentine gave you because you bought a gift all for yourself… chocolate." Haha. 24. 24 Alistair (formerly of freshfixture.net) (comments: 6)

Your posts seem to make me feel a little too excited. Your last one has secured a unmoving trend in raison toast, absolutely suffocated in butter, so it's your fault if I die.

As if I'd care about heart cholesterol if I'm eating those chocs though. I'm adding you to my blogroll, link exchange?

In Korea and some other places as well, there is a day to celebrate the fact that you're single. It's called Black Day and is held on April 14th. :)

  31. 31 Janelle (comments: 7)

Valentine's Day is only on February 14, but Singles' Awareness Day is 24/7. The singles tribe need no particular date and time to celebrate their singleness. We can do it anytime we want! And that's a given fact.

  32. 32 Irene (comments: 6)

You have got to stop with posting images of food. Every time I visit there's some sort of super yummy food pictured and it makes me hungry. So stop it already! LMAO.

  35. 35 Lil (comments: 24)

Fantastic! I'm not single and I did not get chocolates. Obviously I'm missing out on something.

  36. 36 Constance (comments: 2)

Either you have someone or not, V Day sucks anyway. It's just something commercial. One should be able to do that kind of thing often, not once a year.

    Anyway… yummy pictures! I mean… oh my… it's been so long I ate chocolates like those…

About Alfajores. Oh they're so good. There's actually not many non-Argentineans who like dulce de leche. Most people I know say it's too sweet. I love it anyway!

Hope you'll have a nice weekend!!

  37. 37 Katharina (comments: 2)

:) Happy late Valentine's Day. I loved this entry, made me smile. :) I kill for chocolate so yeah, you found a fan in me, hehe.

@Emily: Hi, thanks for stopping by. Yes, my sister told me that she nominated my blog last night. Crazy sister, LOL.

@Sash aka Farm Boy: Your math logic looks correct, but what do I know? Ms. Fernandes tweaked off BOTH my ears! I have no ears. (Hmmm, it seems a bit weird making fun of Ms. Fernandes, since the abusive old bat is probably long dead by now!)

@Syaz: The Triangolos are AWESOME! Definitely one of the best in the whole bunch of reasons, LOL!

  39. 39 Emily (comments: 6)

Hey… wandered over from your nomination at Best of Blogs. Good stuff! Your picture of the raisin bread is making my stomach growl.

  40. 40 Sash aka Farm Boy (comments: 23)

Hmm, lemme put on my MATH THINKING CAP. So, if I eat the ENTIRE 500g box, that means:

    500g / 40g per serving = (12.5 servings X 4% per serving) X 100% = 50% daily value of both fibre and calcium!

WHY, YES! Eat the entire box! Nutritious! Oh, I don't know if that logic is right at all. I totally suck at math, LOL. Your horrible Grade 1 Math teacher, Ms. Fernandes would tweak BOTH my ears for getting the wrong answer, hehe! Ouch!

  41. 41 Syaz (comments: 2)

Whoa! Those chocolates look… TEMPTING! Give me some! HAHA! Especially Triangolo!
