I tried other anti-spam plugins, but only found success with Akismet and Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam.

I was using Bad Behavior but uninstalled it because of the overzealous filtering problem. I replaced it with Spam Karma 2, but I think BB was more effective in fighting spam. But at least there are no issues of overzealous filtering in the latter.

You should find the 2.0.9 release works a lot better. If not, you should actually try contacting the author of Bad Behavior.
