My friend recently commented in jest, “It’s like a fat cat coughed up a hairball in your blog. Give it a rest.” Let it not be said that fruity didn’t offer variety or hear the mass voices of recreational slackers. This is for YOU, a short YOUTube video (3 min. 30 sec.) featuring a poodle-hybrid woman and anthropomorphic upright poodles with bulging muscles.
It is apparently a word-for-word parody of loopy Susan Powter’s first workout video and was made by Nagi Noda for Panasonic. It was part of 10 films Panasonic made for the 2004 Athens Olympics. Surreal. I figure, if you exercised to this video for at least half an hour (repeat the video 10 times), you’d lose a few calories, yes? Maybe I could get my fat cat Max (or myself) to do this…
Prior to reading the Wikipedia entry for Susan Powter (Ms. Stop the Insanity! mantra), I hadn’t known that she was educated by Dominican nuns. I myself attended an elementary school run by scary German nuns and suffered at the hands of a teacher who doled out math and death by ear tweaking. I can only guess why Powter just can’t stop the insanity.

Mariko Takahashi’s FITNESS VIDEO for being appraised as an “EX-FAT GIRL”
Fun fitness movie catering to both art and special make-up
[ Artist's Commentary ]
This video expresses the joy of exercise. My theme was a fitness video that anyone could do easily at home. While I was trying to find something that both adults and children could enjoy, I saw a poodle with its “muscle-like” hairstyle and I thought, how about a girl with muscles in the same places? I hope you will watch this during the Olympic Games, work out, and become happy in both mind and body too.
Muscles in the same places? Hmm, maybe the world needs a strange fitness video with a Cat-Woman Hybrid and Anthropomorphic Cats with Bulging Bellies…
Remember kids, pump the bellies like you’re in the mud! Pump the bellies like you just don’t care! Victory and happiness is the most important thing for everyone. Don’t bag it down. Whatever.
No, you just cannot stop the insanity! This is MY blog.
I bid you all adieu,
fruidle hybrid
P.S. I’ve transcribed the audio of the video for those who can’t hear the sound. I have great skill in quickly transcribing a video or audio… in my sleep… very little effort. All those years transcribing and testing multimedia videos and software (as a job) would apparently lead… to this.
Hi, I’m Mariko Takahashi. Can you guess who this is? Yes, it’s me. You can’t believe it, huh? Thanks. But what I want to say here is, hope, that anyone could do it, but the point is not only to lose weight. That’s likely to fail. The important thing is for you to become strong. If you can build upper body strength, you can lift things much easier. Beautiful arms showing from your summer dress is not a dream. That’s what you want, right? Three days a week or every other day, we’ll be building muscular strength. That’s what this video is about. Beauty and strength, this is connected to everything in life. Connected to victory and happiness. Victory and happiness is the most important thing for everyone. OK, let’s go!
Pump the arms like you’re in the mud. Shoulders down, chest open. Tighten your stomache. Deep breath in, deep breath out. Always slow and strong. Four more coming, four, breathe it out. And three, think it out. It’s two, tighter. Now step aside, outside right here now arms… With arms, resistance on the up. Good job guys.
We’re doing the strength training now. Let’s sit down. We’re going to start from the military press. Hold your hands up and go from pull position. It’s up, squeeze on the top and down again. It’s up, squeeze on the top and down again, again. It’s up, squeeze on the top, deep breathe out, again. Open your legs. It’s up, squeeze and down, again. It’s up, squeeze, last one. Down.
Ready for action, hold it up, squeeze it up, now get it up. Take it up. Squeeze for half and press. Don’t touch it down. Don’t bag it down. Slow and gently put it up. Come look at this. She’s squeezing it down. She’s bringing it up and she’s bringing it down. Nice control, nice control. And up, shoulders down. And up. That’s it.
We’re training the thighs now. And up. Press down. Lift it up. Last one. That’s it. Face your front. Up, up, up, up. Slow and strong. Down, Sssssshhhhhh. Up, up, up, up. Slow and strong, hooooosshhhh. And down. Hooooh.
Thank you for joining. Be well.

I would like beautiful bulging arms showing from my fabulous summer dress, darling. Is it a dream? That’s what I want.
Getting stranger and stranger and stranger…
Interesting video. The woman’s arms were kinda freaky though.
That is weird. I never enjoyed exercising anyway.
I like how you have your website. Looks wonderful.
Also like this blog, it’s very quite interesting.
Wow, now that was a pretty damn weird video… I wonder what people think about when they make such videos…
My replies, late as usual…
@Hodges: Pinocchio, wishes can become reality, however, men in dresses must shave their legs first. Unsightly, all that hair.
@Nancy: Thank you. So that’s at least “11″ strange people now who actually found this blog interesting.
@EVERYONE: Thanks for taking the time to write comments.
