My sister, an avid baker and Queen of Desserts recently made Swiss chocolate cupcakes frosted with Nutella and chocolate sprinkles. Divine indulgences, indeed! I don't really have much of a sweet tooth or a big addiction for chocolate and would prefer to finish off a meal with fruit and cheese, however, very few people can resist a bite of my sister's sweets.
I would like to claim that the cupcakes were "just like Grandma used to make" except it wouldn't be true because I never had a sweet Grandma who ever baked or cooked for me and my sister while we were growing up. Anyway, the cupcakes were light but moist, chocolaty but not too sweet - a great base for the Nutella frosting. The chocolate sprinkles added a nice decorative appeal and texture (crunch). Big sis made A LOT.
For the Nutella virgin, Nutella ("new-tell-uh") is a very sinfully delicious, creamy, smooth, chocolaty hazelnut spread made from cocoa, roasted hazelnuts and skim milk. The Nutella folks market it as being "nutritious" which is kinda funny. Well, it's orgasmic on bread, fruit and anything that you can put chocolate on. Thinned out with heavy cream, it also makes a great fondue dip, but my absolute favourite way to eat it is with a spoon right out of the jar - no double dipping. Nutella is food for the fat gods.
I used to work for a company where my manager (whose cubicle was right beside mine) had a serious coffee and chocolate addiction. She kept boxes and bars of chocolate and a jar of Nutella in her desk. The aroma of rich coffee and chocolate (as well as the smell of disenchanted employees and slackers) hung in the air and would waft to my side. Once in a while, I'd catch her spooning into that Nutella jar and licking the spoon. One time, I hid her Nutella jar... umm, yeah that's another story for another day.

So good! I could eat more than one! In fact, I did! Maybe I should stop, hahaha! Well, sometimes, I feel like a Nutella, sometimes I don't.

This is kinda funny - is Nutella not that common where you (or your readers) are from? I ask because of the pronunciation lesson for it. BTW in Australia, we pronounce it Nuh-tell-uh.
I can't imagine a world without Nutella ads and my mother getting angry at the TV for telling me it was healthy and then never allowing me to eat it… although I'm now 18 and so an adult (here?) and can eat as much as I want. Muahahaha!!!
